Body Powder

So…. a long time ago, I made a batch of body powder. At first I liked it. The fragrance was great and it helped me feel fresh during the day.

Unfortunately, the combination of ingredients were kinda scratchy… uh, in sensitive places and now instead of being THAT person who uses something up to not waste use it, I’m going to start from scratch (no pun intended).

I used the same recipe, but instead of grinding the rice and lavender, I’m going to leave the pieces whole. I hope to get the same benefits sans the scratching.

Lavender Body Powder
adapted from Crunchy Betty

  • ¼ cup rice
  • 6 tbsp lavender buds
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 70 drops lavender essential oil

Add rice and lavender buds to powder container. Set aside.

Whisk the cornstarch and baking soda in a bowl (not plastic).

Add essential oil, about five drops at a time, whisking as you go.

Add the cornstarch mixture to the powder container with the rice and lavender buds. Put the cap on and shake to combine. Store in a cool, dry place.
